Who Needs a Student Visa?

A student visa is mandatory for all non-Turkish nationals (including citizens of Pakistan and most Asian and African countries) who plan to pursue:

• Undergraduate degrees

• Graduate/postgraduate programs (Master’s or PhD)

• Language or preparatory courses

• Exchange programs and vocational studies

Note: A student visa is not required for short-term courses under 90 days if your country is e-Visa eligible.

Required Documents for Turkey Student Visa

You will need to prepare and submit the following:

• A valid passport (minimum 6 months validity beyond intended stay)

• Completed visa application form

• Recent passport-size photographs

• University acceptance letter from a recognized Turkish institution

• Proof of sufficient financial means (bank statement, scholarship documents, or sponsor letter)

• Health insurance valid in Turkey

• Proof of accommodation in Turkey (university dormitory, rental agreement, etc.)

• Police clearance certificate (if requested by the embassy)

• Visa fee payment receipt

Application Process

1. Receive acceptance from a Turkish educational institution.

2. Book an appointment with the nearest Turkish Embassy or Consulate in your country.

3. Submit documents and attend an in-person interview if required.

4. Wait for visa approval (usually processed in 10–20 working days).

Once your visa is granted, you can travel to Turkey and must apply for a residence permit within 30 days of arrival.
