Who Can Apply?

You may apply for a Turkey Family Visa if you are:

• A spouse of a Turkish citizen or a foreigner with a valid residence permit

• A child (under 18 years) of either spouse

• Dependent parents (under special circumstances and case-by-case basis)

The sponsor (family member in Turkey) must meet certain financial and legal requirements to support your stay.

Required Documents

From the applicant (family member abroad):

• Passport (valid at least 6 months beyond intended stay)

• Completed visa application form

• Recent passport-size photographs

• Marriage certificate (for spouse)

• Birth certificate (for children)

• Proof of family relationship (translated and attested, if necessary)

• Proof of accommodation in Turkey

• Health insurance covering your stay

• Police clearance certificate (for adult applicants)

From the sponsor in Turkey:

• Valid residence permit or Turkish citizenship ID

• Proof of income (must meet at least 1/3 of the minimum wage per family member)

• Address registration document from Turkish civil registry

• Notarized consent for children, if applicable

Application Process

1. Gather required documents and translations.

2. Book a visa appointment at the Turkish Embassy or Consulate in your country.

3. Submit application and attend the interview (if required).

4. Receive family visa approval, then travel to Turkey.

5. Apply for a Family Residence Permit within 30 days of arrival through the local Directorate General of Migration Management (Göç İdaresi).

Validity and Renewal

• Family residence permits are usually granted for up to 2 years at a time.

• Permits are renewable, provided the family relationship and sponsor’s residency remain valid.

• After 3 years on a family residence permit, you may be eligible to apply for long-term residence.
